About Wafer
In 2009, we were promised "an app for that." Now, 17 years later, there are over 2 million apps on the app stores. Our home screens became mosaics, our lives fragmented across hundreds of apps, each one owning a small piece of the whole picture.
We message friends and family across text messages, Snapchat, Discord, Instagram, and WhatsApp. We coordinate work through Slack, email, Google Chat, LinkedIn, and Twitter. We track our fitness on Strava, Whoop, Oura, and MyFitnessPal. We order food through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Amazon, and Instacart. We capture our ideas in Notes, Notion, Google Docs, and Obsidian. We navigate our dating lives between Hinge, Tinder, and Bumble.
But when we think of the most important parts of our lives, we don't think of app icons. We think of conversations, experiences, and memories made.
So we built an operating system that doesn't see your life through the filter of hundreds of apps. We built one that remembers your roommate's birthday as you're walking by the bakery (and that he's allergic to peanuts). One that helps plan a surf trip with friends when the wave size matches their skill level. One that shows you how much you've spent on delivery and lets you know if maybe you should budget better. We built one that finally sees the whole picture.
